Well written Julie….your style of writing is precise, easy to understand & thoughtful. I found myself anxious to get out there & practice some of those listening skills. It is not as easy as one would think …as most of us like to talk or are thinking of our answers before someone is finished speaking. To be in the moment fully engaged & listening fully…takes practice. I am still learning…but your article points out what possiblities lie ahead for those that learn this skill & what joy there is in a sense of community & being connected.
I have been guilty of sometimes finishing people’s sentences..so this is an area that I will truly try to work on.
Again…great article.
