So you say you would never do "something like that"?!

The above info-graphic just came across my desk yesterday and is the perfect opener for a story I have been wanting to tell for quite some time, I have had to "sit on it" for about 6 months.  I believe that at the foundation of all life's events is the benefit of "perfect timing".

I recently received "the" confirmation letter that wrapped up a 2 year long review process with our Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). At the end - and sparing you of a lot of drama along the way - I won an appeal I filed that challenged their original reassessment of my year's results - an appeal they encouraged me to file. I learned a lot and was grateful for the way the agency worked with me and for their authentic attempts to understand a business model that up until recently they have labelled "fringe".  Because at the end of it all, for myself and my representative, it was an investigation into the lifestyle of a Network Marketer.

You see that North American $36 Billion bubble?

a) That's 2014's figure, we're waiting for 2015's total any day now - it will be much bigger, and
b) momentum is being noticed.

There are thousands of pending reassessment cases currently in process at the Appeals Division, it appears to be increasingly difficult to ignore a figure that is growing - exponentially. I was fortunate to be assigned a case officer that admittedly knew nothing about Network Marketing before taking me on. He was impressed with what he was finding.

As a side note, one of the benefits of being with a great Network Marketing leadership team, is the great guidance and advice that comes with them. I have learned from one of THE best teachers in the industry how to track my activities and finances, keep my books and save on taxes. Having someone to show you how to manage and grow the tremendous profits we make  - when we make them - is priceless. Over 20 years, this has beat ANY other return on my investments.

In a wrap-up discussion, I was encouraged by my case officer to go out and teach what I was doing, and of course, make more money! It was an extremely affirming process.  (I find myself considering giving him a call to see if he would be interested in joining my team for the purposes of learning first-hand what it is we do and how...we'll see, he's on the "chicken list" currently.)

As I write this I am officially in my 21st year as a Network Marketer, the last 12 years (fondly labelled "The Dirty Dozen") have been "full-time", which (to me) means, "without traditional employment", not necessarily the number of real hours of "work", because in this model of earning income, focused part-time effort earns a full-time income and certainly "more than enough" for the chance to be "free" and follow our bliss.  If one does it properly and with the right company, the work you do continues to pay for generations.

I am far from having my black belt in my chosen profession yet, I have to be OK with that, I was a VERY rough diamond at the start of this journey in 1995. If I go to the grave having earned a brown belt here, I will be satisfied and without regret.

Network Marketing and the people who are a part of it, those I call friends, family and mentors, have taught me how to take care of myself, on every level, the association allows us the benefits and real possibility of "Owning Ourselves".

This is my calling and the main way I serve. Too many that I love are living way less than they want to be, they deserve more and better for their efforts, and in our time, it has little to do with money and everything to do with openness of mind, willingness to learn and the tenacity to act. I come from humble and ignorant beginnings myself, and will always testify that if this hack can do it, almost anyone can.

If the general numbers in the image above don't "qualify" as an alternative solution to the tremendous shift and uncertainty going on in today's employment situation, well then I have to ask,

"What exactly are we expecting?"  From my broader perspective, it seems after 100 years of existence, this is an untapped miracle.

I see a lot of collective focus on "what's wrong", and a fair bit of closed-mindedness around exploring REAL opportunity - sure change can be "uncomfortable", but at this point, ask yourself,

"What's the best that can happen? Why not me?"

The Network Marketing/Direct Sales model of commerce has been around almost a century, with the acceleration of change itself and the massive, cohesive influence of a world-wide-web, the model of direct selling has evolved to meet the needs of our current "state of being". I can safely guess that 50% of that total figure above goes "back to the people". World-wide, it buys a lot of groceries, builds a lot of orphanages, schools, wells, homes and generally does a boatload of good in the hands of well-connected, well-intentioned entrepreneurs and philanthropists - the core of Network Marketing professionals.

Our planet's wealthiest entrepreneurs are already well aboard having backed their trucks up to this "thing"!!  It's a clue.

Everyday I witness several more success stories from those that have NEVER tried something like this before. They're having more fun than they've ever had and planning futures that didn't previously exist in their imaginations at all or at the very least they have dusted off some old forgotten dreams and goals!

I have a simple vision for what I want to accomplish before I am "done". It involves a whole lot of free people doing stuff they've always wanted to do, with more than enough to take on whatever their heart's desire, and I listen, what I'm hearing is that there has never been more desire!

As professional network marketers, we're here to facilitate your due diligence and training process, to assist you in assessing value, to figure out how to make this work for you.

Here's the rub...for many seasoned Network Marketers, their closest friends and family have yet to enter into the process of discovery with them. How can we make a sound decision if we haven't seriously considered the options? This is an option. Who have you sat down with to get it figured out?

It is worth your time to take a closer look, that I know for sure without having met you yet.  There are no promises that it will be for you, or that there is anything to do but look, but at least rule it out honestly knowing what you're saying no to.

Finally before I end,

Although already a year old, I just found this fantastic article from Forbes magazine contributor Robert Laura.  His article titled, Would You Join A Multi-Level Marketing Company For Retirement Income?, remains very relevant and hit close to home with me because of the "regular everyday people" Robert chose to interview for his presentation, but mostly because of his shift in perspective and transformation of attitude towards Network Marketing as a REAL solution for our times,  Mr. Laura no longer perceives these types of opportunities as money-making pyramid schemes.
